Alabama Heartsong Retreat
Camp McDowell
Nauvoo, Alabama
WHAT:
The Alabama Heartsong Retreat is an interfaith spiritual retreat for adults (21 and older) living with HIV and AIDS, those who work in the epidemic, and for caregivers. The primary goal is for each participant to take the time to listen to his/her own "heartsong" and to use what is learned to continue one's own spiritual growth.
It is coordinated by The Support Team Network.
WHO:
Persons living with HIV disease are given priority and professionals who work in the AIDS field are invited. Caregivers are also encouraged to participate. Most participants are from Alabama, but many persons come from other states in the southeast. The Alabama Heartsong Retreat is coordinated by The
Support Team Network and is planned by past participants. The retreat is limited to the first 50 individuals. No childcare is provided.

Support Team Network Refocuses Efforts
New Page 2
 The
Support Team Network staff made a decision on July 20, 2006 to focus 100% of its
efforts to issues related to HIV/AIDS including:
* Preventive Education,
* HIV Testing, and
* Support for persons living with HIV who are patients of The 1917 Clinic at UAB.
The Support Team Network has been a program of The 1917 Clinic at UAB (the AIDS
Outpatient Treatment and Research Clinic) since its beginning in 1994. In the
last six years, the program had expanded to teach others how to develop teams
for any health-related need.
